Diagnostic Imaging Department

Radiodiagnóstico en el hospital IMED Levante

The Radiology Department is situated on the lower groundfloor and has direct access from the Accident and Emergency Department. It includes its own reception area and a large waiting room.

Hospital de Levante and Philips Medical Systems together collaborate under an agreement in which the Hospital is recognised as a ‘Clinical Cooperation Centre’. This status guarantees that the Hospital is equipped with the most advanced technology available from Philips on a world-wide level.

The Diagnostic Imaging Service, which is all digitalized, along with a Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archive Computer Service (PACS) permits availability of images and reports within and outside the Hospital via a web server. Equally, all the apparatus are managed by a Worklist which ensures all examinations are carried out directly from the equipment, optimizing patient care and reducing waiting times.

The Hospital pioneers the use of said technology in Private Health Care in the Valencian Community. The importance of such means not only improves the diagnostic imaging quality but also reduces radiation exposure.

All the conventional radiology equipment, with the exception of the fluoroscopy, are digitalized through a CR-Digital.[EN][ME] Diagnóstico por imagen 13

The Hospital is equipped with three Ultrasound Scan Units; one located in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, another allocated to the Cardiology Department and a third one in the Gynaecology & Urology Department. Each one is fitted with its own specific probes and software.

As with all the systems in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the INTERA Nova Magnetic Resonance is of the most advanced technologies available from Philips at present.

Due to its capacity for different gradients, the equipment can be used in different fields, allowing high resolution cardiac studies, spinal and brain examinations and peripheral vascular studies, all of high resolution as a result of its ample FOV (Field of view).

The examinations that can be performed by the CT Multislice MX8000 IDT Scan, puts the Diagnostic Imaging and the Cardiology Department at the top of available technology at present.

The Multislice scanner, with a speed of 0.41 rotation/second, allows for non invasive cardiology examinations, vascular and peripheral studies, screening for lung nodules and a quality virtual endoscopy, all which have been unavailable on the market until now.

The equipment has software to perform Bone Density tests, high resolution Dental Scans for implants, 3D reconstructions of all types and the fusing of images proceeding from the Nuclear Medicine system.
